In this Contract Surgical Services Nurse, Temporary PACU RN role, the position typically reports to the Director of Surgical Services with daily support from a PACU Charge Nurse and close collaboration with Anesthesiology and the Perioperative Nurse Manager, and responsibilities span comprehensive pre-op assessments, patient education, IV starts, medication reconciliation, OR readiness, Phase I/II recovery, airway and hemodynamic monitoring, multimodal pain and nausea control, Aldrete scoring, discharge readiness, and compassionate communication with patients and families, all within a welcoming culture of friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team that includes surgeons, CRNAs, pharmacists, PT/OT, case management, and social work, backed by evidence-based order sets, specialty consults, and an engaged educator for continuous support.
