Responsibilities
- Welding & Fabrication: Read work instructions to perform multi-position welding (horizontal, vertical, overhead) and fabricate components for solid oxide fuel cells.
- Setup & Assembly: Position, clamp, and load/unload parts into jigs and fixtures; design and create new assembly fixtures as needed.
- Quality Control: Conduct pre-welding part counts and post-welding leak tests to ensure total compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Equipment & Shop Maintenance: Safely operate welding gear, hoists, and power lifts; maintain machinery and uphold 5S cleanliness standards.
- Operations Support: Complete required paperwork, monitor and report inventory levels for shop consumables, and recommend process improvements.
The essential functions of this role include:
- working in a smoke free environment
- wearing steel toe shoes
- standing for 8 hours at one time
