Structural Steel Fabricator

Great company in Louisville is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, fabricating structural steel components, and assembling materials according to specifications.

This position requires experience with metal fabrication tools, welding, and maintaining quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

Structural Steel Fabricator Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $20.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 03:30pm )

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, and fit structural steel components.
• Operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, punches, shears, and overhead cranes.
• Perform tack welding and fit-up as required. 
• Inspect fabricated parts to ensure dimensions and quality meet specifications.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and angle gauges.
• Safely move and position steel materials using cranes and sit down forklift.

Structural Steel Fabricator Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in structural steel fabrication or a related metal fabrication environment required.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Experience operating fabrication machinery and hand tools.
• Basic welding experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately measure using standard and metric measuring tools.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
