Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer — Santa Fe, NM (Hybrid)

This role supports a modernization effort for a high-volume LAMP-based web application and will help operationalize a regression-driven QA function to ensure reliability across current and upgraded environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert existing manual test cases into a structured, repeatable regression suite and prioritize test coverage for critical workflows.
• Design and execute database performance tests for key transactions and reports.
• Execute and compare test runs across current and modernized environments to identify regressions and environment-related issues.
• Validate backend data integrity using SQL (MySQL) and classify defects by severity and business impact.
• Implement targeted browser and end-to-end automation using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Document test processes, results and support GO/NO-GO decision points for releases.
• Mentor internal QA staff and transition knowledge to the team to establish long-term QA capability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of QA experience focused on web applications, with strong experience in regression test design.
• Proven experience with test automation and browser automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar).
• Proficiency with SQL for backend validation and experience testing multi-step transactional workflows.
• Familiarity with PHP/LAMP environments, ability to read JavaScript/PHP code and exposure to modernization/migration projects.
• Experience or awareness of Redis/session-state considerations and basic AWS/cloud exposure.
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
