Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Beachwood, OH 44122 (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $50/hr - $53/hr on W2

Background Check: Fully Cleared Required

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with expertise in enterprise networking, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and network security. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale Cisco and Fortinet network environments. This role requires deep knowledge of routing, switching, wireless technologies, firewalls, and Microsoft Azure networking, along with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.

Required Experience

• 15+ years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering and Network Support
• Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise WAN/LAN environments
• Proven expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, and cloud networking technologies
• Experience serving as an escalation point for critical network incidents and outages

Must-Have Skills

Networking & Routing

• Deep knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet/FortiGate networking hardware
• Strong expertise in: BGP OSPF EIGRP MPLS Enterprise routing and switching design and administration

SD-WAN & Wireless

• Extensive experience with: Cisco Viptela SD-WAN Fortinet SD-WAN Cisco and Fortinet wireless architectures Wireless network deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting

Network Security

• Expert-level administration of: Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls Cisco ASA Cisco Firepower Palo Alto Firewalls
• Experience with: VPN technologies NAT Security policies Threat prevention

Cloud Networking

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Networking
• Hands-on experience with: Virtual Networks (VNet) VNet Peering VPN Gateways ExpressRoute

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Advanced troubleshooting skills using: Wireshark NetFlow
• Root cause analysis of: BGP issues OSPF issues VPN connectivity issues WAN/LAN performance issues

Automation

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Automation using: Python Ansible

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy enterprise-grade Cisco routing, switching, SD-WAN, and wireless solutions.
• Administer and support Microsoft Azure networking infrastructure.
• Manage Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, and Palo Alto firewall environments.
• Serve as the highest escalation point for complex network issues and outages.
• Monitor network performance and perform capacity planning.
• Ensure compliance with security standards such as PCI and HIPAA.
• Manage and support WAN and LAN infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain secure wireless networking solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including: Network diagrams IPAM records Configuration standards Operational procedures
• Evaluate and implement emerging networking technologies and best practices.

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Professional ( CCNP )
• Fortinet Network Security Expert ( NSE 4 8 )
• Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer ( PCNSE )
