Job Overview: Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is a trusted acute care community hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. The hospital’s Emergency Department treats more than 32,000 patients annually and is designated as a Primary Stroke Center with 24/7 telemedicine support.
The Rahway campus is also home to Care Connection, a 24-bed licensed subacute rehabilitation unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey – Rahway, a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital that specializes in treating medically complex patients requiring extended, specialized care. Patients benefit from a wide range of therapeutic services including physical, occupational, speech, and hearing therapy, as well as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs designed to support recovery and long-term wellness.
As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse, you will play an essential role in supporting patients during the critical recovery phase following surgery. Working collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the broader care team, you will monitor patient recovery, manage complex conditions, and ensure safe transitions through the post-operative process.

Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized, age-specific nursing care to patients within the assigned unit in support of the overall medical plan of care. The RN practices in accordance with the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health regulations, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
