Job Description

The Sonnenalp Golf Club is seeking a Fitness Attendant to provide welcoming, professional service while supporting daily club operations.

Wage: $20 per hour

Application Deadline: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until May 20th or until the positions are filled.

Primary Purpose of Position

To maintain the cleanliness and working order of Fitness related infrastructure and equipment at the highest level so as to allow members and guests the ability to use the facilities at allotted times and assist with those operations that are in direct support of that area and have a direct impact on the member/guest experience. This person will also act as a greeter for pickleball in the mornings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of: all Club and Hotel features / services, hours of operation, all Activities program & Fitness Center programs, all pool programs, all tennis programs, scheduled daily group activities
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with Club and Hotel departmental policies and procedures
  • Notify manager of any safety hazards
  • Sanitize and wipe all equipment as required on a daily basis
  • Continually align all equipment
  • Follow opening and closing checklist daily and place in designated notebook when shift is complete
  • Hand out towels to members and guests
  • Monitor members and guests to make sure check in procedures are followed
  • Walk entire club continually making sure areas are clean and clutter free
  • Straighten and make “guest ready” all areas
  • Ability to deal with members and guests in a polite and courteous way
  • Promote personal training and group fitness to all members
  • Set up assessments as per Fitness Manager guidelines
  • Help spot or monitor members when they request assistance of when you see a need
  • Maintain order and safety as top priority
  • Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of all related areas
  • Dispose of any dirty linens to the proper area
  • Provide neat, legible schedule records in a timely manner
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain a log of equipment maintenance daily
  • Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to manager
  • Promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the Club, Fitness, Pool, Tennis or Activities area and by telephone
  • Set up workstation with necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness throughout shift
  • Accommodate all guest requests expediently and courteously
  • Successfully complete the training/certification process

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a club or member environment preferable

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Adult and Child CPR/First Aid certified
  • Ability to focus attention on members’ needs while remaining calm and courteous
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up
  • Ability to focus on details
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all member and guest information and pertinent Club and Hotel data
  • Ability to work well under pressure of coordinating request at any given time
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and coworkers as part of a team

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift, often walking long distances
  • Ability to clean and sanitize areas, lift heavy objects, and to work with chemicals related to pool & fitness operations
