Job Description

Role Summary

Summit Technical is seeking an experienced Chemical Advisory Engineer to drive project planning, field coordination, and onsite technical execution for our enterprise client portfolio. In this role, you will join our team of technical advisors on client sites to ensure rigorous rollout discipline, compliance governance, and seamless closeout communication for complex chemical applications, hazard evaluations, and safety protocols. Representing the Summit brand in the field, you will help organizations evaluate operational fit quickly and execute technical deployments smoothly while maintaining control of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intake & Project Planning: Evaluate client specifications and operational frameworks to conduct upfront material fit, chemical compatibility, and environmental hazard assessments prior to field deployment.
  • Field Execution & Technical Delivery: Provide high-impact, onsite technical advisory support during client rollouts; rapidly handle field escalations, diagnose chemical application or formulation failures, and deliver immediate corrective actions.
  • Compliance & Safety Governance: Enforce strict rollout discipline regarding global regulatory frameworks (OSHA, EPA, REACH, TSCA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management to maintain absolute field readiness and zero-compromise site safety.
  • Reporting & Closeout Communication: Conduct thorough post-delivery technical audits, contribute comprehensive data to leadership's monthly status reports, and lead structured project closeout sessions to transition clients into full operational self-sufficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Field Experience & Accountability: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a chemical engineer, technical consultant, or field engineer, with a proven ability to maintain onsite accountability and deliver results under stressful, fast-paced field conditions.
  • Technical Depth & Compliance: Thorough knowledge of chemical properties, material science, chemical compatibility hazards, and global regulatory compliance standards (OSHA, EPA, REACH, TSCA).
  • Execution & Troubleshooting: Demonstrated experience with field deployment logistics, incident escalation handling, and comprehensive troubleshooting of technical chemical applications within multi-site enterprise environments.
  • Professionalism & Field Readiness: Represents Summit's brand with high integrity to corporate clients and stakeholders; must be physically fit to travel independently, navigate industrial sites, and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment up stairs or ladders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Education & Academic Foundations: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related industrial/technical discipline.
  • Delivery Model Expertise: Experience working within an OEM delivery, Channel Delivery, or MSP Augmentation model, supporting outsourced technical execution across distributed environments.
  • Professional Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) status.
  • Databases & Instrumentation: Thorough knowledge of industrial chemical tracking databases combined with the capability to perform limited maintenance on field calibration tools.
  • Methodology & Process Alignment: Proven background utilizing structured project management methodologies (Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma).

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. All jobs are subject to random drug screening.
