You'll work with high school students launching genuine businesses with $1M revenue potential. These aren't classroom exercises or hypothetical scenarios. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be dedicated to individual coaching sessions: pinpointing where each founder is blocked, determining the most impactful next step, and ensuring accountability to a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% involves academic monitoring and facilitating workshops that equip students with practical skills, not just theory.

This is not an instructional position. You are accountable for holistic student outcomes: business traction, academic performance, and personal development simultaneously. You'll rely on dashboards, venture updates, and academic metrics to coach with clarity and precision, not gut feeling. If a student's grades decline, you step in before it escalates. If a business plateaus, you surface the actual issue, not the easy one.

You begin by understanding each student's venture, their capabilities, and their obstacles. Within a few months, you become the voice they trust when challenged, because you've operated in the real world yourself. The payoff is seeing a 16-year-old arrive with an idea and leave with a working company, the habits to sustain it, and academic results that preserve their future options.

What You Will Be Doing

• Providing 1:1 coaching to student entrepreneurs on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your time
• Leveraging dashboards, venture metrics, and academic records to assess progress and set actionable priorities
• Tracking academic results and stepping in proactively when attention or organization begins to slip
• Designing and running workshops focused on transferable, applied-learning outcomes
• Facilitating stand-ups, retrospectives, and group sessions that reinforce accountability and goal ownership

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching lectures or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you guide experiential learning, not traditional instruction)
• Offering broad mentorship or inspiration without concrete action plans or accountability
• Handling administrative tasks—calendaring, forms, or enrollment processes
• Attending routine faculty meetings or dealing with institutional red tape (your focus remains on student impact)

Business Coach Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Available to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation assistance provided)
• Minimum 2 years coaching or developing others (team members, peers, or clients), with a concrete example of a coaching engagement and measurable results
• Professional background owning critical outcomes or performance metrics, including at least one instance with $500,000+ in annual revenue impact
• At least 1 year working directly with young people (students, junior professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, skill development, or entrepreneurial ventures
• Authorized to work legally in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Founded, launched, or managed a startup or early-stage venture personally
• Served as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or senior contributor accountable for end-to-end results
• Proficiency with AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for coaching preparation, insight generation, or written communication
• Experience in K-12 settings, EdTech platforms, or programs integrating academics with hands-on application (incubators, experiential learning, entrepreneurship curricula)

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
