Assistant Professor, Exercise Science (Special Appointment) The Department of Health Science at Curry College invites applications for a one-year, full-time Special Appointment in Exercise Science for the 2026-2027 academic year (August 2026 start). This position is based on our Milton, MA campus and focuses on high-quality undergraduate teaching and applied laboratory instruction.
This is an ideal opportunity for candidates seeking a teaching-focused role, recent graduates, visiting faculty, or professionals with applied experience in exercise science who are interested in contributing to a dynamic undergraduate program.
We seek an engaging educator with expertise in exercise physiology and/or human performance testing who is committed to hands-on teaching, student mentorship, and career preparation.

Primary Responsibilities: - Teach undergraduate courses in areas such as exercise physiology, exercise testing, human performance, and/or research methods.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on laboratory instruction, including use of exercise testing equipment.
- Support student learning and career preparation through advising and mentorship.
- Contribute to program needs, including course coordination, instructional continuity, and related programmatic events.
- Collaborate with faculty on student-centered initiatives such as internships or applied learning opportunities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications: - Master's or PhD in the Exercise Sciences or closely related field. ABD candidates are welcome to apply.
- Experience in exercise science practice, teaching, research, or applied settings.
- Familiarity with laboratory-based exercise testing (e.g., metabolic carts, ergometry, data collection).
- Strong communication skills and commitment to effective undergraduate teaching.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in working with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience teaching in higher education or relevant professional experience in exercise science or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in mentoring undergraduate students and supporting career readiness.
- Commitment to high-quality, student-centered teaching.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, a range of exercise testing equipment and laboratory techniques.
Salary: Starting at $80,066 annually
